Japanese Friendship Events

Japan US Flags

Our Japanese Friendship Groups are the source of many wonderful opportunities to share in the culture, arts and crafts of Japan. Some of the activities they sponsor for our enjoyment are: cooking, calligraphy, tea ceremony, tie dying, kimono wearing, haiku, cloisonne; outings to Asakusa and cherry blossom viewing; Autumn and New Year's celebrations. You can sign up for these activities at the ZaCSA Fall sign-up and any remaining openings will be announced throughout the year.

The Japanese women go to great lengths to share their friendship and culture with us. There are a few things that we can do to help them:

1. If you sign up for an event, please attend! Everyone knows that things can come up, but we have to give an accurate count to our hostesses, so please let me know if your plans change. Obviously, if there is a last minute change in your plans, we will try to accommodate, but the more notice you can give, the better.

2. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to the designated meeting place so that there is time to get everyone situated before we travel to our destination. We want to be considerate of our hostesses and arrive on time.

3. If you cannot make an event, please do not get your own substitute. To be fair, people will be chosen off of a waiting list to fill any vacancies. Feel free to contact the 'People to People' board member if you know someone who would be willing to take your place.

4. Contact the People to People POC by email at peopletopeople@zacsa.org, if you cannot attend. If you are cancelling within 24 hours of the event, please do not use email, but call the People to People POC.
